for the end-to-end R&D design development and experimentation activities linked with Strategic Business Unit and Market strategic priorities.
The Design Specialist's work will bring to life our R&D center capabilities, and our innovation and renovation pipeline with products, services, experiences, and business models. A successful team member will collaborate with individuals and project teams to generate all elements of graphic design executions (digital and physical) to communicate key communication points, brand and product attributes to consumers and internal stakeholders. They will facilitate experimentation of design to shape and refine ideas and insights into brand and product concepts that are attractive and differentiating.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Generate iterative digital design stimuli for Test & Learn activities, and physical packaging graphic design for use in testing, integrating consumer and stakeholder feedback into original ideas to improve them. Facilitate the ideation process using design thinking and visual aids (sketches, designs, storyboards, renderings, and prototypes) to make ideas tangible. Prepare final designs, including artwork, text, and photography, for transfer to packaging production. Stay current with design trends, prototyping techniques, external capabilities, and competitive audits to enhance internal NDC capabilities and inform design process and direction.
Effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external business partners (innovation agencies, design agencies, printers). Effectively network within Nestle USA and R&D design community to support NDC teams in accessing all needed knowledge to advance the design of concepts, and where appropriate, ensure guardrails for legacy Nestle brands' visual identity are respected. Demonstrate design authority while working effectively in a team.
Manage and prioritize across multiple projects simultaneously. Work with technical leads to ensure compliance and feasibility of designs. Seek out and learn innovation and consumer testing tools. REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience and Knowledge): Degree in Graphic Design or another form of design. Minimum 3 years creative experience in a design field (consumer goods preferred). Understanding of brand visual identity, communication, and consumer. Experience in industrial design and/or packaging graphical design preferred. Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience in the rest of Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
Proficiency in sketching and drawing. Experience in creating mockups or prototypes. Experience in photography a plus Experience applying Design Thinking to opportunities/projects.
