The Insurance Regulatory Attorney will serve a combination of transactions, litigation, and regulatory compliance, making this role both dynamic and challenging. Key responsibilities for this role include counseling insurance companies, health plans, and other healthcare organizations in commercial transactions, product development, policy and contract compliance, joint ventures, and MA.
Valuable experience for this role includes interfacing with state or federal insurance and healthcare regulators, defending insurance or healthcare regulatory enforcement actions, and litigating disputes related to
health benefits. The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, and be a member in good standing of the New York and New Jersey State Bars.
Strong knowledge of New York and New Jersey state regulators in insurance and healthcare is essential. The firm is seeking a candidate with 5+ years of legal and/or compliance experience in property/casualty, life/health insurance regulatory, transactional matters, and regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, including market conduct examinations, financial examinations, and holding company matters. Strong analytical skills for complex legal issues,
proficiency in conducting legal research, and excellent interpersonal skills are highly valued.
