Open up opportunities with HPE. Job Description: What you will be doing: The HPE AI Performance Group is seeking an M. S. or Ph. D. level engineer in AI/ML to develop, optimize and characterize representative applications and workloads
that address the needs of our customers in this field. All fields of AI/ML will be considered but currently the main areas of interest include Object Detection, NLP, Simulation, both training and inference.
The successful applicant will have conducted research or have equivalent work experience in areas such as in developing performant models (for example using binary weights, quantization techniques, model pruning, auto ML techniques), distributed/parallel processing, in all forms (data, model, pipeline). We are looking for applicants with deep algorithmic knowledge and experience with working with acceleration libraries such as ROCm, NCCL, cu DNN, CUDA. Applicants with a range of relevant
skills will be considered, so it should not be assumed that the applicant must currently meet all the capabilities listed in this description.
However, a fundamental requirement of this position is an ability and willingness to acquire knowledge and skills that you don't already possess and to continue to keep up to date with developments in AI. Responsibilities: Optimize the performance of deep learning models on GPUs and accelerators, working at the algorithmic level as discussed above. Develop complete workflows from ingestion, ETL, training, through inference and model serving. Performance characterization of models and applications on HPE products Required skills & experience: Ph.
D. or M. S. plus additional work experience, in C. S. engineering or science field where your research or other project work was over 50% involving AI/ML. Experience using the common DL frameworks to include Tensor Flow and Py Torch. Experience with distributed training and inference using APIs such as the Py Torch RPC, Distributed Data Parallel, Tensor Flow Distribution Strategies, g RPC and Horovod. Also, the use of communication libraries such as MPI along with experience with the performance characteristics of high-performance network hardware and software to include Infini Band.
Python programming ability is an absolute requirement. Must made extensive use of libraries such as Pandas, Num Py, Dask. Familiarity with CUDA, cu DNN, NCCL, ROCm and other accelerator libraries. Experience coding with those libraries is a plus. Linux - both in using and in the understanding of performance tuning and profiling. Extra Credit: Experience with programming in C++, golang or willingness to acquire the necessary skills. Experience with programming using Spark, Kafka and other dataflow API's Having worked on projects involving high-performance, multi-node communication; accelerators such as FPGAs and custom ASICs; algorithms that utilized model quantization, binary weights or other advanced approaches.
