Engineering Interns work in multidisciplinary teams and provide support to some of the most vital aspects of a project: plant equipment, piping, control systems, regulatory compliance, and life safety. The total number of interns and start dates are subject to workload and business conditions.
Locations will vary based on project needs, and may include Houston, TX or Reston, VA, along with various project sites. General Job Duties Fire Protection Engineering interns may be responsible for: selecting and specifying equipment preparing detailed system piping and instrumentation diagrams performing system and equipment sizing calculations establishing facility design requirements and developing
the system safety basis providing consulting and code interpretations to interfacing disciplines supporting the development and/or maintenance of fire hazards analyses or fire protection design analyses reviewing supplier and subcontractor designs and installations Basic Qualifications Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Fire Protection Engineering at an accredited college or university Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in the above field Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future Must
