About the role: As the SME and technical lead for electrical component assembly and semiconductor manufacturing processes, the Principal Supplier Engineer collaborates with cross-functional groups to resolve supplier-related issues and implement strategies to support supply chain objectives, drive supplier performance and mitigate risks for supplied materials.
Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with R&D, manufacturing and process development teams on electrical and mechanical design requirements for new product development; support the development
phase, qualification and production release activities Integrating new products and processes into the existing manufacturing area, while ensuring minimal disruption and timely supply chain of compliant and quality components to the customer Communicating project plans and progress with site leadership and stakeholders to gain support and resources from plant management Partnering with the category team to review and sustain approved suppliers; source new suppliers as necessary; incorporate leading market trends to support the category strategy and drive improvements Planning and coordinating all project phases and tasks; lead engineers and cross-functional teams to qualify and improve supplier
processes Facilitating complaint investigations where supplied material is a potential root cause; guide junior engineers in problem-solving methodologies (i.
e. NCEP and CAPA) as needed Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline Minimum 7yrs experience as a technical lead in electrical systems, test and design Working knowledge of analytical techniques used to investigate component defects Ability to travel 20% domestic and international Preferred qualifications: Experience working in medical device or a similar GMP environment Experience with semi-conductor manufacturing and managing supplier relationships Experience leading cross-functional project teams; ability to influence and drive Working knowledge of statistical methods and six sigma methodologies Ability to navigate ambiguous situations with effective change management and conflict resolution skills Ability to communicate effectively on all levels; strong technical writing and reporting skills performance Organized and detail-oriented; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop internal and external relationships Effective problem-solving and critical thinking analytical skills; results-driven Knowledge of BSC products and processes Requisition ID: 575059 Among other requirements, Boston Scientific maintains specific prohibited substance testing requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
