Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking to fill the position of Reliability Engineer at our Baltimore site. The Reliability Engineer will provide product design influence through reliability tasking while working within an Integrated Product
Team. The Reliability Engineer will perform the following duties. Work with design and production personnel to ensure program reliability requirements are satisfied.
Develop reliability plans to define reliability activities, resources and methods. Allocate and decompose reliability requirements to sub-assemblies. Develop system reliability models including reliability block diagrams and reliability predictions. Complete Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to identify product failure modes and support failure mode probability/severity mitigations and/or corrections. Conduct Failure Review Boards (FRBs). Plan and effectively manage Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective
Action System (FRACAS). Lead failure investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
R eview product systems and associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications, and operations in order to establish Reliability design guidelines and criteria. P articipate in internal and external customer reviews. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's in related STEM degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience; Masters in related STEM degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience. U. S. citizenship required. Experience working in a team environment to include gathering inputs from others to inform reliability predictions.
Possess oral and written skills and be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Must hold an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields. Have a working knowledge of mathematical probabilities and statistical analyses. Ability to perform reliability engineering activities including report generation. Working knowledge of MIL-HDBD-217, VITA 51.1, Mil-Hdbk-1629A and other applicable Hardware and Software Reliability standards/guidelines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Have experience with reliability modeling tools such as Windchill, and/or Reliasoft. Salary Range: $75,700 - $113,500The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
