who are ready for the next phase in their career development. Our Team The Cedar Springs facility is one of the largest containerboard facilities in the country with three paper machines that make different weights of brown paper & containerboard paper.
The Cedar Springs Mill, located in the southwest corner of Georgia is approximately 28 miles from Dothan, Alabama. Dothan is the 6th largest city in the state of Alabama with a population of about 70,000. From Dothan, you are only 90 miles from the beautiful Gulf Coast. You can easily drive to 3 capital cities in 3 1/2 hours or less. You are just 1.5 hours from Tallahassee, FL and Montgomery, AL. Additionally, Dothan has several parks,

What You Will Do Understand safe work practices and lead safety by example. Lead improvements in our processes for consistent, reliable manufacturing of our containerboard paper grades. Work closely with GP's Collaboration and Support Center (CSC) to build predictive modeling for the operations. Look for opportunities anywhere in our processes to improve throughput, eliminate waste, reduce cost, or improve quality. Support execution of routine maintenance shutdowns as well as major projects. Utilize economic and critical thinking and risk-taking mentality to ensure operating costs are minimized wherever practical.
Encourage operator technicians to demonstrate personal ownership and fostering the personal growth of their capabilities. Collaborate with Area Leaders to prioritize work. Maintain and track key metrics and provide explanations for metric performance on a weekly and monthly basis - Uptime, raw material consumption, operating supply usage, and machine speed are examples. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering. Two (2) years or more of experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment in the areas of operations or maintenance.
Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence) What Will Put You Ahead Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Five (5) or more years of work experience in pulp and paper. Two or more years of experience in an early development/leadership professional engineering program. Experience developing and implementing improvement processes and projects.
