large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. Platforms Storage is responsible for building storage solutions for all of Google's services (e. g. Search, Google Cloud, Photos, You Tube, etc.
). The team designs and develops all the platforms software and solutions for NAND flash, SSDs, storage appliances, and next-generation storage technologies. We do firmware, kernel, user space development, and security solutions optimized for Google's services (e. g. Google Cloud, Search, etc. ). We also explore storage innovations for virtualized environments to lead the marketplace. Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team
to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible.

We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $185,000-$283,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.
g. Python, C, C , Java, Java Script). 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role. 2 years of experience in Storage domain (i. e. hardware or software). Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or Ph D in Computer Science or related technical field. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization. Experience in one or more of the following: SSD storage and related technologies like NVMe, Storage hardware and FTLs, storage management and security low level systems architecture, and/or Low level systems architecture.
- Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams. - Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching. - Develop the mid-term technical outlook and roadmap within the scope of your (often multiple) team(s). Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Design, guide, and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems. - Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e. g. style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
