Without detailed direction, plan, prepare, and complete the design of assigned complex components and functional systems. • Build finite element models and/or statistical energy analysis models for use in dynamic simulations • Perform random vibration analysis • Perform acoustic analysis • Generate dynamics test requirements, as well as, the overall qualification and acceptance test approach for avionics components and secondary structures • Execute dynamic testing (vibration and acoustic) from start-to-finish (pre-test analysis, sensor selection & installation, testing, data analysis, model correlation and report generation) • Analyze acceleration and pressure time history data from engine firings, tests, and flights for use in vibro-acoustic analyses • Provide dynamic design guidelines and requirements to mechanical designers in early phases of hardware development The candidate will be responsible for developing environments such as random vibration, shock, and acoustics that simulate launch vehicle operations.
Must be willing to work with and mentor junior analysts. Candidate will perform analyses using appropriate classical and computer aided techniques and prepare results for oral presentations and written reports. Requirements Demonstrated experience with environmental shock and vibration testing, procedures, and defining requirements.
