GENERAL SUMMARY: The Painter must effectively and safely perform, coatings application and all associated phases of industrial coatings. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customers specifications
and manufacturers recommendations. Assembles, maintain, repairs, and cleans painting equipment. Mix and thin the coatings according to manufacturer's recommendations.
Construct protective enclosures to avoid over spray of customers equipment. Assist in loading, unloading and storage of equipment and supplies. At all times perform his work in the safest possible manner. Immediately correct any unsafe condition. Perform onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep the jobsite clean by keeping it clear of all trash, unused paint materials, etc. Cooperates with Gulf Coast Industrial Project Manager and customers in carrying
out assigned work. Direct the Helper/Laborer in proper work performance and job requirements.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE : The blaster/painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved and be an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe and effective surface preparation and application of coatings. The blaster/painter must be able to hold and a control 100 psi nozzle pressure. They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even mileage. Must possess knowledge of and have experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters. ) Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
Some knowledge of rigging. Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of his craft. Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of his craft. EQUIPMENT: Six bag Blast Pot (100 lb bags of abrasive) and blast hoses 8 Ton Blast Pot and associated Hopper and blast hoses Various size compressors, ranging from 185 CFM through 1600 CFM Conventional Spray Pots and associated Spray Guns Airless Spray Pumps and associated Spray Guns Various respiratory equipment Quality Control equipment, such as dry film thickness gauges Various type of Aerial Platforms and Manlifts Forklifts, bobcats Common hand tools, common power tools Ladders and ropes, tarps Barrel/fuel pump Generator Pressure Washers Personal protective equipment, including the following, but not limited to: Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, safety harness, leather gloves, chemical resistant gloves, respirators, ear plugs, and goggles.

Maintain accurate record keeping on work performed. Qualifications: 2+ years previous experience is required as an industrial blaster / painter. NACE CIP1 Certification or NCCER Task 7.1 thru 7.7 with performance Verifications. (NCCER Modules 61106 / 61207 / 61208 / 61206) Preferred. Candidates must be comfortable working in abnormal operating conditions which consist of but are not limited to confined
spaces or environments that pose immediate danger to life and health. Candidates must be comfortable working in highly regulated, detail-oriented environment where strict adherence to rules and procedures are always required Requirement: High School Diploma or GED Required.
