The Team As part of the IT Global Engagement Services (GES) department, the Enterprise Architecture team enables IT's mission of aspiring to be dynamic, collaborative, technology leaders delivering global, secure, seamless solutions and services enabling
mission impact with the highest standards of integrity and operational excellence. We are a multidisciplinary team comprised of enterprise solutions architects, human centered design, and web site delivery engineers.
We partner widely with business operations, foundation strategy program partners, affiliates, and other stakeholders to understand their visions and provide innovative solutions to support their realization. Your Role In the role of Senior Enterprise Solution Architect, your primary responsibilities will involve the creation and support of comprehensive solutions that are in line with our business goals and technology strategy. Collaborating closely with multifunctional teams,
you will establish architectural principles, provide direction for solution development, and guarantee the scalability, compatibility, security, and efficiency of our enterprise-level systems.
This role requires a high level of curiosity and engagement, outstanding creative thinking and problem-solving skills, and a drive to deliver tangible value. What You'll Do Collaborate with business partners to grasp their requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Architect solution options that align IT services with mission, goals, and objectives while considering technical and non-technical implications and trade-offs. Follow foundation architecture best practices, adhering to standard activities and deliverables for project solutions.
Conduct technology backssments and evaluations to aid technology selection decision-making processes. Active involvement in coding proof of concepts (POCs), prototypes, and implementing various patterns. In partnership with GES leadership, provide technical leadership and guidance to the development and implementation of business solutions across multiple projects. Provide direction to technical teams during project delivery. May validate and approve the work of the technical team. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, backssing their relevance and potential impact on our solutions.
Empower teams to develop architectural approaches through collaborative processes and ceremonies. Provide technical leadership for strategic projects to evaluate, select, design, and build with the long-term/production implementation of technical solutions. Drive the development, adoption and consistent implementation of architecture principles, and standards throughout the technical stack and across a broad range of environments. Collaborate with external partners and vendors as needed. Your Experience 5+ years of hands-on technology implementation in relevant technology stacks.
2+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture roles. Solid understanding of, and working experience with Enterprise Architecture concepts, common frameworks, and data/system/process modeling. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience planning and deploying business and technology capabilities. Shown interpersonal and customer relationship skills, including the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization and with non-technical partners to derive technical requirements and priorities.
Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and adopt new technologies and drive innovation; efficient and excellent prototyping; proactive approach to staying knowledgeable about industry trends. Experience supporting and working with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment. Have a sense of personal ownership and accountability, with the ability to develop and deliver to deadlines while leading internal partner expectations. Self-starter that can educate themselves on required topics and operate without close supervision. Ability to lead small teams of engineers and vendors, overseeing work delivery and quality.
Experience architecting large scale data platforms. Experience with public cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Cloud. Experience in software development practices such as source code management, CI/CD. Experience with application containerization and orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with programming and scripting languages such as Java, Go, Python, Bash, Ruby, Powershell, Terraform, Ansible. Familiarity with agile project management methodologies. Education and Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree field. We recognize high-wage market differences where our offices are located, in Seattle, Washington D. C. and Boston (Cambridge). The range for this role in these locations is $164,700 to $247,100 USD.
