Supervises the receiving, storage, shipping, inventory control and administrative systems to assure that those activities support facility and division policies and procedures for quality, cost and customer service.
Manages product storage and distribution facility in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. Provides supervision and training for warehouse staff. Key Responsibilities Ensures that the plant policies, procedures and union contracts (if applicable) are administered and followed in a fair
and consistent manner. Ensures appropriate receipt and recordkeeping of inventory. Performs related duties such as transmitting information via computer concerning inventory, shipping containers, and storage availability.
Direct the warehouse operation to monitor inventory, shipping receiving, cost control, quality and safety performance. Ensure accurate inventory control by monitoring product between storage facilities and customers. Coordinates delivery of product in a manner which maximizes use of resources and meets delivery requirements. Provides supervision and training for company and contract staff. Provides orientation for new drivers, ensures safety procedures are communicated
and followed, and provides training as needed for specific equipment.
May operate heavy equipment when needed. Receives and may physically unload product into warehouse. May operate forklift and other equipment as necessary to maintain warehouse. Performs physical inventory counts. Typical Education Associate's Degree (A. A. or equivalent) Relevant Experience 3+ years related experience and/or training Knowledge of facility operations and products. Understanding of labor issues, company policies, and regulations.
