Summary: The Physical Tester II receives, processes, and maintains records on laboratory samples. This position performs physical tests on aggregates, concrete, cement, lime, and associated materials. The position performs maintenance duties for

Performs routine physical tests on concrete, aggregates, cement, masonry mortars, lime, and other materials. Maintains records and equipment, calculate test results, and maintain proficiency in testing techniques and procedures. Receives, maintains records on, and stores laboratory samples and supplies. Conducts sample preparations of specimens for routine physical tests on concrete, cement, aggregates, and other materials. Schedules testing, enters test data and reviews results for accuracy. Physical Tester I. Maintains certification in American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing Technician - Grade I, Strength Testing Technician, and Aggregate Testing Technician.
Participates in AASHTO certification reviews and inspections. Maintains and calibrates equipment and records per AASHTO requirements. Assists Physical Testing Supervisor in writing reports and setting up work orders.
