Position Overview: As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for applying engineering software management/support expertise to a broad range of engineering computer-aided design/computer-aided engineering software that supports engineering work processes. This position will report to the Engineering Automation Supervisor and will work alongside and be mentored by Senior Automation Engineers within the Bechtel NS&E business unit. This role will be based in Reston, VA, and periodic business travel to Poland offices and sites may be required. Responsibilities: Integrates primary engineering data management tools (i.
e. Smart Plant, AVEVA, Tekla) used by various engineering disciplines. Has a complete understanding of how upstream and downstream users are impacted by engineering data. Develops and deploys reports, queries, material take-offs, etc. Trains users on software and automation work processes. Works with disciplines and departments to identify and integrate data. Develops desktop instructions and procedures related to data management, data integration, data quality, automation planning, etc. Uses excellent oral and written communication skills.
Collaborates with GBU Automation, Project Engineering, Functional Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Startup, IS&T, and Operations (as appropriate) on engineering-related automation issues. Works well with other disciplines, functions, and customers. Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications: Computer Science or Engineering related BS (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Nuclear) degree at a US accredited institution with 3 years of related experience or AA/AS degree with 5 years of related experience; or in lieu of education a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 9 years related design experience.

Minimum Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD application configuration and administration.
